Our Ethos:

“Placing children at the heart.”

Our aims:

  • To provide a high-quality pre-school experience, where children are at the heart of everything that we do.
  • To create a safe, inspiring, and curious environment, where children thrive and learn.
  • To build secure and trusting relationships with children and their families, valuing parents as their children’s first and most important educators.
  • To celebrate diversity, appreciating and respecting the things that make each child unique.
  • To be child-centred and inclusive.
  • To appreciate the natural environment, promoting independence, resilience, and self-belief with outdoor learning opportunities within our local environment.

About Stepping Stones Preschool

We are a small setting run by a highly qualified, experienced and passionate team. Although our setting is situated in the primary school grounds, we are an independent pre-school. We are registered with Ofsted and are inspected regularly. At our most recent inspection we were graded Outstanding. The report stated: 'All children at this pre-school significantly benefit from a wonderfully fulfilling early years' education.' Stepping Stones Pre-School is a registered charity, which is managed by a voluntary committee of parents and guardians. The committee must include a chairperson, treasurer, and secretary as well as many other supporting roles. The committee also take an active part in fundraising which we rely on financially for the continued running and upkeep of the pre-school. We hold an A.G.M in October, which everybody is welcome to attend. At this meeting, the new committee for the following year will be selected. Our pre-school cannot open without a committee.

Register your child

If you would like your child to attend our pre-school, your next step will be to fill in a registration form. To request a registration form, please contact the preschool. Once we receive your registration form, your child will be added to our waiting list. You will be contacted the term before your child is due to start with an invitation to visit our setting for our open afternoon. Pre-school will then send you a letter of confirmation, which includes the parental agreement. Your place is secured once you have signed and returned these.
Our admissions policy is to give priority to applications from our catchment area (the village of Leverington) and to those children that will be attending mainstream school the following September. Please be assured our pre-school endeavours to meet everyone’s needs.
